July 1, 2014 - AGC announces that its consolidated subsidiary AGC Glass Europe has signed a letter of intent with Obeikan Glass Company to establish a solar control glass coating joint venture. The processing line for temperable solar control glass coating will be built in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. Operations are scheduled to start in early 2016. -

June 27, 2014 - The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), in partnership with DCH Solargiga Company of Germany, has launched a 40MW solar energy plant to augment the national electricity grid to accelerate development in SADAs ecological zone. The 117-million-dollar project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP), under a joint venture of 90 percent and 10 percent respectively of DCH Solargiga and SADA. -

June 27, 2014 - AGC Solar announces that the AGC Group has decided to terminate the production of photovoltaic cover glass (patterned glass) at the Roux plant and shut down the plant. The decision was made under the local law on June 26 following due information and consultation with the Works Council and the union organizations which started February 10, 2014.
